One of my favorite wedding presents we received was this simplehuman hands-free soap dispenser. It is great to have in the kitchen when cooking, cleaning and especially when dealing with raw meat. I almost always buy it for friends when I see it on their wedding registry.
After 3.5 years of marriage, and pretty much daily use, our little soap dispenser gave up on us. We ended up going without it for a few weeks, and it was evident we needed this convenience back in our lives. When searching on Amazon, I found a knock off for half the price and decided to give it a go.
Enter the OPERNEE hands-free soap dispenser, the less expensive and more advanced sister to the simplehuman version.
There are three improvements this brand has made to one of my (already) favorite products:
- There is an ON/OFF switch on the top, so if you need to move the dispenser to somewhere else in the kitchen (i.e. under the sink), you don’t have to risk it randomly going off when the sensor sees something in front of it. Less mess!
- The sensor is not overly sensitive. You have to purposefully put your hand under the spout for it to dispense.
- You can choose how much soap you want to dispense each time the sensor is activated. I really appreciate this feature as I felt we were using more soap than necessary with our previous model.
I still think the simplehuman product was high quality and had a pretty good lifespan. We’ll see if the OPERNEE one is still kickin’ in three years!
